Newton County YAT Hosts Kick the Habit Planning Meeting with German Exchange Students

The Newton County Youth Action Team kept the momentum going on March 2, 2026, with a one-hour Kick the Habit planning meeting at Newton College and Career Academy — and they had some special guests along for the ride.

Forty participants gathered, including YAT members, adult partners, and the group of German exchange students who had attended the YAT Social the day before. The visiting students had the opportunity to sit in on a real prevention planning session, getting an inside look at how peer-led prevention programming comes together. The meeting covered station planning, material deadlines, and volunteer sign-ups for the upcoming lunch table outreach — giving every member a clear picture of what needed to happen before event day.

It was a full room with a lot of energy, and a reminder that the work the YAT does extends well beyond Newton County.
