Newton County YAT Begins Planning NARCAN Prevention Video Skit

Peer-led prevention takes many forms — and the Newton County Youth Action Team is taking it to the screen.

On January 16, 2026, two YAT members met for a 1.5-hour planning session to begin brainstorming a skit for an upcoming NARCAN prevention video. The group worked through initial ideas, established a summary for the skit, and laid the groundwork for a larger production meeting where more students will have the chance to participate.

The project reflects the YAT's commitment to creative, youth-driven approaches to opioid and prescription drug prevention — meeting their peers where they are with content that resonates.
