Newton County YAT Volunteers at Newton County Schools Sensory Santa Event

The holiday season is better when everyone gets to celebrate — and the Newton County Youth Action Team helped make that happen.

On December 11, 2025, four YAT members volunteered at the Newton County Schools Sensory Santa event, spending three hours engaging with special needs students and their families at holiday-themed sensory stations. Activities included a snowball toss, photo frame decorating, letters to Santa, pictures with Santa and the Grinch, mosaic making, and jumbo Connect Four — all designed to create a joyful, accessible holiday experience.

YAT members worked directly alongside younger students, bringing patience, enthusiasm, and genuine connection to every station. The event reached 75 community members and welcomed one new YAT member to the team.
