Youth Action Team Prepares for Kick the Habit Campaign
Newton Community Partnership’s Youth Action Team (YAT) recently met to prepare for their upcoming Kick the Habit campaign, a youth-led initiative focused on promoting healthy choices and preventing substance use among peers.
During the meeting, YAT members worked collaboratively to develop and organize tabling activities that will be used during future outreach events. These activities are designed to engage fellow students and community members in conversations around underage drinking prevention, prescription drug and opioid safety, tobacco and vaping prevention, and overall mental health awareness.
With a focus on peer-to-peer education, YAT members are taking an active role in shaping messaging that resonates with youth in Newton County. Their efforts support broader prevention strategies while building leadership skills and encouraging positive decision-making.
A total of 15 participants attended the meeting, demonstrating continued commitment to youth engagement and community impact.
Newton Community Partnership is proud to support the Youth Action Team as they lead initiatives that empower youth and promote a healthier, safer community.
