YAT Member Morgan Roach Recruits at Newton High School PAST Project Meeting

The Newton County Youth Action Team grows one conversation at a time — and YAT member Morgan Roach is proof of that.

On February 27, 2026, Morgan attended a PAST Project meeting at Newton High School, where she spoke directly to a group of 8th and 9th grade students about joining the YAT. Her goal was straightforward: recruit new members at her school who are interested in leading lunch prevention tabling activities and getting involved in peer-led prevention work in their own building.

Morgan addressed 40 students during the one-hour session, bringing a peer-to-peer perspective that no adult presenter could replicate. Her initiative to expand YAT's reach at Newton High School reflects exactly the kind of student leadership that makes the program work.
