Newton OPI YAT Heads to Georgia Teen Institute 2026
We're so proud of our Newton OPI Youth Action Team! Four YAT members and adult advisor Noelle West represented Newton County at the Georgia Teen Institute (GTI) 2026, an intensive event totaling 32 hours dedicated to youth engagement, community service, and prescription drug and opioid prevention.
This year's GTI brought a special milestone — the group welcomed a new YAT member to the team, growing their impact and bringing fresh energy to their mission.
While at GTI, the Newton OPI YAT got to work planning their next big community project: expanding awareness and knowledge of opioids throughout Newton County through interactive educational activities. We can't wait to see this project come to life and continue to support our community's youth as they lead the way in prevention education.
Way to go, Newton OPI YAT — we're so excited to see what you build next!
