Newton High’s Top 10 Includes Two Youth Action Team Standouts
We’re beaming with pride over here at Newton Community Partnership as we celebrate two incredible Youth Action Team (YAT) members who’ve earned top honors in Newton High School’s Class of 2025!
👏 Nicol Vives, this year’s Salutatorian, is headed to Emory University to major in biology on a pre-med track. Her goal? To become an anatomic pathologist, diving deep into the science that helps save lives. Nicol named Dr. Cecily Gunter as her top teacher, a testament to the impact of great educators along the way.
👏 Isaiah Edmondson is also among Newton’s elite top 10. He plans to major in biology at a four-year university, also on the pre-med track, with aspirations of becoming a doctor. He gave a special shoutout to his favorite teacher, Dr. Enedine Andre-Perales.
Both students have not only excelled academically, but have been active leaders in YAT—bringing youth voices to the table, promoting health and wellness, and leading by example.
Their futures are bright, their impact is lasting, and their YAT family couldn’t be more proud.
Congratulations, Nicol and Isaiah—you’re showing the entire county what it means to lead with purpose.
